AC spinning but not cooling
In case your AC isn’t cooling your home or office to the temperature that was set on the thermostat and just spinning, you might be dealing with some minor problem that has an easy fix. Check our troubleshooting tips to handle the issue yourself. Thermostat is set to ON If the thermostat is switched to ON, the blower spins also when the AC isn’t actually cooling your place, and causes warm air to blow from the unit. Switch to AUTO mode and the air will blow only while the system is cooling. Dirty filters Dirt and dust in the filters obstruct the airflow, which significantly affects the AC’s cooling capability. Replacing the filter should remedy the situation. Dirty condenser The AC’s condenser, which is supposed to expel the heat from your place, pretty quickly accumulates street dust and debris, or gets blocked with vegetation. Such obstructions significantly reduce its performance and prevent it from normal operation. Clear the outdoor unit of dirt and try cleaning its fins with a light stream of water. In case you’ve exhausted all our troubleshooting tips and your AC is still spinning, but not cooling, you might be encountering a larger issue, which requires professional assistance. Contact us and one of our expert techs will come to your place and fix the problem in a heartbeat.
